Good-Bye Pimples!

Understanding why pimples form, will help you understand this simple step to eliminate them. Your body produces an oily waxy substance down in the hair follicles called sebum. The natural flow of this oil empties on the skin surface threw a narrow follicle opening or pore. Many people describe this as having oily skin. Sometimes the narrow follicle opening gets plugged with cell build up and oil. Once that happens bacteria produces chemical and enzymes and attract white blood cells that cause inflammation, causing a redness or bump. Then it breaks down and spills and leads to what is called a closed comedo or pimple or whitehead.

You can get pimples to clear up a lot faster with added health benefits then what I am going to explain in this process. But for now I will explain this small step that can be done to get rid of pimples within a few weeks.

Every morning and every evening either in the shower or with a hot wash cloth steam your face for 20 minutes to open pours. Do not scrub your face with the wash cloth to eliminate pimples. Do not pinch them that will leave a scare. Massage castor oil on infected area. This oil can penetrates threw 12 layers of cells and naturally opens the pores releasing the sebum. You need to do this just before bed after you steamed your face. As part of your daily routine after your pimple is gone. Keep washing and steaming face twice a day to keep pores or the narrow follicle opening opened.

How to Get Rid of Acne - How to Cure and Prevent Pimples and Zits With Vitamins and Minerals

If getting rid of face zits is a major challenge and definitely a number one priority in your life right now, I do not blame you. I know that having facial pimples effect your self esteem, self confidence, and social life.

My brother went from being the "life of the party" to living a "life of hermit"... and then back to being a "social butterfly"... all this because he went from "no acne," to "severe acne," then back to "no acne."

You know the saying, you are what you eat. And you really do have to admit, whether you have face zits or not, what you put inside as well as outside, does effect your appearance whether you look at it from a scientific perspective or just plain common sense. How can it not?

Now that we agree on that much, you want to know what gets rid of face acne and also prevents acne going forward, right? Okay, the Vitamins that are beneficial in getting rid of acne are Vitamins A, B2, B3, and E; zinc also helps in boosting the immune system and therefore effects your overall well being including your skin. Here, I have listed foods that are high in the vitamins that will help you eliminate and prevent acne:

Vitamin A - fish oils, liver, carrots, yams, apricots, and cantaloupes, kale, spinach, and parsley (experts advise against consuming extremely high doses of Vitamin A as it can be toxic, so know your limits - most people actually do not get enough).

Vitamin B2 - whole grains, fish, milk, eggs, meat and leafy green vegetables (these are stress-relieving nutrients as many pimples are also caused by stress).

Vitamin B3 - eggs, avocados, liver, lean meats, and peanuts (improves circulation, so it effects overall health of the skin); it also stabilizes sugar and fat.

Vitamin E - almonds, sunflower seeds, broccoli, and wheat germ; it is also a powerful antioxidant, which protects your cells against the detrimental effects of free radicals.

Zinc - whole grains, nuts, eggs, and nuts.

The best method I know to cure your zits is to get a major jump start by using the right combination of 100% premium organic essential oils while incorporating healthy diet full of above vitamins.

How to Get Rid of Pimples Fast, But Naturally

Pimples are a common nuisance to many people around the world, and they can strike anyone from teens to adults, and both men and women. Some groups are more susceptible, however, especially teenagers going through puberty as their hormones are going haywire.

When pimples are not hormone-related, there is a common misconception that they are a problem by themselves, when in fact, pimples are just a symptom of poor hygiene or skin care. So the specific treatment of pimples is a bit strange, as this aims to treat a symptom rather than cure the problem that is causing the pimples in the first place.

So, rather than take drugs that are designed to target the pimples, and in doing so cause strain on the body in other ways without really treating the problem, you should take preventative measures and natural treatments to beat acne and pimples. This can be done by changing your diet so that you eliminate junk foods and eat more healthy, and also by improving your hygiene standards by washing your face throughout the day and showering at least once a day.

Junk food like chocolate and sugary things like soft-drink are known to cause pimples, and are unhealthy in other ways aside from their acne causing abilities. Dairy products, such as milk and cheese, are also not good pimples, so if you have severe acne you should stop consuming these products.

Showering in the evenings is the most ideal time to wash the body as this will keep your body and the bed clean so that you are not sleeping in dirt and sweat that will cause pimples. Washing your face throughout the day, especially after strenuous exercise, or when sweating, is also important. When you get hot your pores are opened up more, so sweat and dirt are more easily able to cause pimples. This is why you should wash your face after exercise.

If you follow these simple measures of improving your diet and your cleanliness, you should be able to reduce or completely get rid of pimples that affect you in a fast and natural way.

A Look at the Retin-A Micro Prescription Acne Medication

Individuals with acne have a plethora of choices available to them as far as treatment options go. They can either purchase treatment systems at retail stores or pharmacies, or can obtain prescriptions for medicated options that are more powerful than the over-the-counter treatments. Retin-A Micro is one example of a medicated treatment option provided by a dermatologist. In this article, the properties and capabilities of Retin-A Micro will be reviewed and discussed.

Retin-A Micro is produced by Ortho Dermatologics, a company that also makes Renova tretinonin cream. Ortho Dermatologics does not have a file with the Better Business Bureau.

Retin-A Micro is a gel designed to unclog pores, soften or remove scarring, fortify the skin against future breakouts, and heal and repair damage caused by moderate to severe acne on the face. The active ingredient in this product is called tretinonin, which is the acidic form of vitamin A. This ingredient is available in either .04% or .1% concentrations, and is meant to be applied by hand to the face. The user should first clean the face with a cleanser before application. The properties of the active ingredient, combined with "microscopic sponge-like beads", help to make the skin look healthy.

As a prescription medication, Retin-A Micro is only available via a doctors prescription. Therefore, a visit with a dermatologist is necessary. The cost of this medication depends on whether or not one has insurance; without insurance, the cost can be as much as $100 (although Ortho Dermatologics offers a $50 rebate).

As with most prescribed acne treatment options, Retin-A Micro is quite capable against most - if not all - forms of acne. The downside, though, is with the side effects: dryness, itching or red skin, stinging, burning, or peeling. Not all users experience these, though, and most report that Retin-A Micro does eventually give good results (although the wait can be several weeks if not months). If continuously applied, and used as directed by a trained and qualified dermatologist, Retin-A Micro can be effective. One thing must be said, though: Many of those who use Retin-A and reviewed it used it in conjunction with other products, so the positive results may not have been entirely from Retin-A. Still, Retin-A does appear to be worth a try for those with moderate to severe acne.

It Looks Like Rosacea But Isn't

Acne and Rosacea

Though both conditions are common - acne is the most widespread of all skin diseases - they are quite different. Acne is caused by excess production of oil in the sebaceous glands of the hair follicle.

Rosacea, on the other hand, usually does not involve the inflammation or infection of the follicle. Though its causes are still a mystery to science, its main symptom is flushing of the skin. I some cases, papules appear, leading patients to confuse rosacea with acne.

Another obvious difference between the two diseases is that there are no comedones, white heads or blackheads in rosacea as there are in acne. Still, due to the appearance of spots on the face, rosacea is sometimes called "adult acne". As much as acne looks like rosacea, it is different in terms of demographics as well. Acne tends to strike mainly during puberty and is called the "bane of teenagers", whereas rosacea tends to show up post-30. Also rosacea appears partial to very white-skinned Caucasian people and has earned it the nickname "Curse of the Celts" in countries such as Ireland and Scotland.

Other Close Cousins

There are several other skin diseases that look like rosacea but are not the same. One of these is lupus erythematosus. This is a serious disease that involves disturbances to the skin and several other organs.

Patients with this disease exhibit red scaly lesions to the skin that are very sensitive to light. The lesions appear on the face but often spread to other organs of body.
Lupus profundus on the other hand affects the subcutaneous fat and causes nodules that lead to depressions on the skin. Do note that rosacea does not lead to the formation of nodules, cysts or rash. It is a vascular disease, whose main symptom is excessive flushing usually restricted to the face.

Rosacea and Dermatitis
Another skin condition that looks like rosacea is contact dermatitis. As the term suggests, this develops when repeated skin contact with certain allergens or chemicals causes the epidermis to get damaged and appear red and raw. For instance, frequent or compulsive washing or rubbing of the face damages the upper layer of the skin and causes redness that is easily aggravated. That's why contact dermatitis is sometimes confused with rosacea. Sometimes, overuse or an allergic reaction to certain chemicals in cosmetics can lead to the same effect.

Like we said, rosacea has many cousins and perioral dermatitis ranks among the closest. Though it is in no way related to rosacea, it closely mimics the skin disease. Patients with perioral dermatitis develop a facial rash and itching around the mouth, upper lip and chin. This is also accompanied by redness and could be aggravated by the use of creams with a steroid base. It strikes mainly in one's teens and at menopause in women.
What Causes Rosacea?

Unlike acne whose causes are well researched, the causes of rosacea are obscure. This is important in the context of treatment of any disease as the course it takes will depend on the kind of disease and its severity. Mild cases of rosacea are effectively treated with topical applications such as foundations and other similar skin camouflage products as the main objective is to cover up the facial flushing.

Medical treatment of rosacea includes the use of medicines - both antibiotic and otherwise - that come in two forms. Some are medicated creams and lotions while others need to be taken orally.

The active ingredients in these are azelaic acid, sodium sulfacetamide or metronidazole, which either reduce pigmentation or inflammation in patients with rosacea. Make sure you get the right diagnosis though because you may have a skin condition that looks like rosacea but is actually quite different.

Acne Cures - The Truth Revealed

Acne is a very cruel condition, because for the most part it affects us at a time in our lives, when we are keen to impress our peers and would-be girlfriends/boyfriends. At the stage in life, when you absolutely want to look your best, you are suddenly and inexplicably afflicted by this extremely unpleasant, sore and uncomfortable condition, which shows itself on your most visible feature, i.e. your face. Worse still, Acne can also affect your neck, shoulders and back so that you will be doubly embarrassed to be seen swimming or in the sports changing rooms. It can make adolescence and early adulthood absolute hell.

Most commonly, when faced with Acne, most people either head to the nearest drugstore or to their doctor and generally they end up paying a lot of money for antibiotics, creams and lotions, which may be moderately effective at treating the condition.

For the lucky few with only a mild case of Acne, that will be all that they require and the condition will be kept at bay by these methods, but for the more severe cases, there will be referrals to dermatologists and a spiralling cost of treatments like dermabrasion or laser treatment. Sadly, in many cases the regime will still not be successful and the patient is left feeling increasingly stressed, miserable and low in self-esteem.

The problem with the vast majority of the drugs, and over the counter products is that they are treating the condition, but they are not attacking the root cause of the Acne, so there is the likelihood that once the treatment stops, the Acne will return and in some cases, worse than before.

There are certain lifestyle choices, which will help, such as:

* Eating lots of fruit and vegetables, which are full of natural vitamins, particularly Vitamin A, which reduces the production of oil in the skin.

* Drinking at least 2 Litres or 4 Pints of water per day, which helps to flush the Acne causing toxins from the body.

* Using Glycerin-based soaps to wash your face, which cleanse the face of oil without leaving the face over dry.

Quick Ways to Get Clear, Acne-Free Skin

Acne is one of the most aggravating problems one can have, and it never seems to want to go away. All of the popular methods seem to only work temporarily, but you want to cure the problem for good. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to help cure acne for good!

First, make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Water helps with circulation, and most people don't drink enough water. Try to drink 8 eight-ounce glasses every day.

Wash your face regularly. Don't feel embarrassed to duck into a restroom to wash your face off if it feels greasy. The longer oil stays on the surface of your skin, the more acne problems you have.

When you wash your face, don't rub vigorously or otherwise be rough. This can aggravate acne. Wash gently. If you end up washing multiple times daily, use water by itself as much as possible.

Acne is also affected by your diet. More healthy foods contribute to better health in general. The skin is one of the ways that the body gets rid of toxins. Less crud in your body means less crud coming out through your pores (yuck!) which means less acne and clearer skin!

Smoking and drinking both cause acne. Both of them contribute to poor general health, which is reflected in your skin. Alcohol consumption has the most noticeable effect though, as it depletes your body's supply of water which, as mentioned above, is necessary for good circulation and clear, acne-free skin.

How to Avoid Acne Breakouts

During adolescence, a lot of us experience acne breakouts at one time or another. Well, what is acne in the first place? It is a dermatological problem that may consist of pimples and cysts that normally can be seen on the face. It usually clears up in many people in time especially during the late teen years and early adulthood. However, not everyone enjoys the same fate. Some have serious acne problems even during adulthood. And this is really a bad problem for those who suffer from it because it affects their self-image plus the fact that having acne and accidentally scratching it hurts!

Acne is caused by multiple factors and when combined will surely cause major outbreaks of pimples which we do not want. During puberty, our body undergoes hormone production change. The body produces more androgen and in turn would affect the oil glands beneath the skin. The oil glands produce more oil which reacts with bacteria. And as we would expect, the bad end result is having blackheads, pimples and cysts. This is not only limited to the face. If you are like some people, you may also have pimples on your neck, body and back.

Since no one in their right mind would love having pimples, we got to find a way to stop those nasty pimple breakouts. Let us look at some of those methods which have been employed by people around the world.

Avoid popping pimples. Yes, a lot of people would advise you to not pop your pimples and for good reason too. If you do not know how to pop your pimple correctly, then better not pop it. If you do so, it would cause you more harm than good. However, if you know how to do so properly and at the correct timing, then by all means do so. You can find a lot of websites in the internet which will teach you the proper techniques.

Have a proper diet. Yes, diet plays a major role in preventing pimples breakouts. If you take in multivitamins, it would ensure that your skin gets all the nutrients it needs to make your skin healthy and thus prevent overproducing of oil. You also have to avoid food that you have proven to be the cause of pimple breakouts. No one person is similar to another. So the cause of pimple breakout in one will not be the same with another person. So, do some experiments to determine what foods cause you pimples and then avoid those foods.

Wash your face regularly. This is the most obvious of techniques in preventing pimple breakouts. By washing your face, you keep it clean and help unclog pores and clear up oil blockages. However, beware of over-washing your face because this is also not good. It will dry out your skin and signal your oil glands to produce more oil. To alleviate this problem, use mild face soap that is not too strong but is enough to keep your face smooth and clean. Or if you really need some serious "firepower", you can employ the use of face washes that are specifically designed to help combat pimples and acne.

Some also try using some prescription methods by the doctor or dermatologists. This can either be external (creams) or internal (pills) and choosing one wisely would depend on the professional advice given to you.

Whatever path you take, just keep in mind that acne is cause by multiple factors such as hormones, environment and diet. You can't control hormonal changes but you can control your environment (to a certain extent) and your diet.

10 Natural and Effective Ways to Acne Free Skin - Part 1

This is part 1 of a 2 part series of articles for Natural Acne solutions. Acne solutions can be found everywhere, but do they really work? Are you one of the many who suffers from acne and looking for solutions that really work? There is definitely good news. Regardless of whether you are a teenager or adult struggling with acne, you don't have to anymore.

I am about to show you the first 5 of the 10 natural and very easy and effective ways to ditch your acne problem. You will find the other 5 in my next article that will be posted by the time you finish reading this article.

1.       I know this is hard but, don't pick at, squeeze or even touch your pimples. This will cause an increase in sebum (a fatty secretion of the sebaceous glands.) production and cause membrane rupture below the surface of your skin.

This will then cause infections and sebum, which is oily, to spread beneath your skin. This causes more infection and eventually more pimples.  You also risk greater chances of leaving scars.

2.       Clean skin is less prone to the affects of bacteria. It is important to wash your face twice a day. Be sure to use a mild soup that won't dry your skin.  Even better to use sulfur-based soap to help fight against acne. For oily skin, you might want to use a soap containing benzoyl peroxide.

Be gentle on your skin. Using abrasive sponges, brushes, or any other abrasive scrubbers on your face is not good. You will irritate your skin and spread the infections. Also, over-washing your face will actually stimulate your sebaceous glands to produce more sebum, thus making your skin more oily which will attract dirt and increase your acne.

3.      Food allergies can cause serious acne conditions. Most doctors will tell you there is no connection; however, there has been studies done recently that say otherwise.

In general you should avoid oily and spicy foods. Also, recent studies indicate that milk contains hormones that can cause acne and should be avoided. Next certain seafood high in iodine should also be avoided, and finally you should avoid foods with sugar, deep-fried food, meats, nuts, butters, etc.

I do not recommend becoming a vegetarian. Unless you have extreme acne, I would just cut back on these foods. These are the foods that are known to cause the allergic reactions that cause acne. Foods that are good are green vegetables; vegetable juices and foods with zinc.  These can help relieve the acne conditions.

4.       One thing that many people tend to forget to do is drink plenty of water every day.  It has been recommended that we drink eight glasses of water a day. This can help keep acne away.  This is because water carries waste material from the body and therefore, helps heal and prevent acne break-outs.

5.       If you absolutely must wear makeup, make sure it is water based. Water based makeup tends to not clog as much and you don't have to use oils to clean it from your face. It is actually better if you don't wear makeup at all.  Many makeup products can clog your pores and cause more blackheads and pimples. Be sure to wash your face before you go to sleep and also clean your makeup brushes regularly.

Getting Youthful Glowing Skin - Popping Thy Pimples

The title of this article might confuse you. First of all, I would like to superimpose upon your minds that you should never ever try to pop your pimples or your acne. Even if you have sophisticated and out of this world tools, you should not attempt to pop your zit.

Why shouldn't I? They're ugly and they make my skin all bumpy! Also, I've got a date tonight and I won't be able to bare it if I still had it on when my date comes to pick me up!

It truly is irritating, to see that spot of imperfection on your skin blatantly exclaiming in triumph. Well you see, if you do try to pop your pimples, you might end up infecting your skin, spreading the germs locked inside of the mutation and in the end, damage your youthful glowing skin permanently. Popping or cutting pimples will, evidently, leave scars on your face.

What would you rather like to have? Permanent, brown, fleshy, scars or something that will go away if you just let it be?

Well actually, you don't really have to let it be. Here are a few things that you can do to prevent and reduce the outbreaks of pimples and acne.

1. Always, always wash your face in the morning and before you sleep. This will help in cleaning your pores. This will also leave your skin feeling refreshed and glowing. Don't forget to use facial soap as any other soap will just leave your skin hard and coarse.

2. Do use a facial cleanser. This will clean your face more extensively than washing your face. Of course one should now forget to clean one's face before doing this. One very cool effective way of cleaning using facial cleansers is through opening your pores through the use of a hot towel.
